Loye, A Barefoot Papa, was one of ten children born to a minister and sharecropper. His mom was a full time mother to the six boys and four girls. He grew up in the country about ten miles from town.
Loye’s education consists of Walker County High School in Jasper, Alabama, Walker Junior College (AA degree), University of South Florida in Tampa (BS degree), and the Kentucky School of Banking, the Banking School of the South (LSU) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Loye has two daughters and two granddaughters. Most of the stories he writes are the very same ones he told his daughters when they were young, and now his granddaughters.
May you enjoy reading these stories with your children and grandchildren as much as Loye enjoyed sharing them with his family.
No monsters or villains will ever appear in Loye’s books.
